![]() I’m angry about being called naive multiple times for wanting to ask why a music video reminded someone of x and I’m frustrated because I feel like I’m being insulted multiple times for wanting to discuss the imagery and music in a music video on subreddit about music. I just wanna go on a music subreddit and ask them about their take on the music and music videos □♀️ it’s a song and video clearly invoking Christian imagery and sounds and I wanted to know what made it come off as Catholic to someone whether it was use of color, sound or specific imagery or even that Catholicism just seems more based around symbols and atmospheric or just “catholic art and music is dramatic/emo to me and so is this”. I’m sure there’s plenty of people who know that while I don’t.īut again this isn’t a test, its meant to be a discussion without any wrong answers. I’m not going to assume I know more about art or music in general or a of religion then someone because that’s not a given and for me that sounds really arrogant? Plus while I know certain art traditions, I don’t know anything specific to the impact of the Pentecostal movement in rock n roll beyond Elvis Presley citing it as an impact on his music. I don’t understand this need to create a conflict in trying to ask some about their take on art and music. We do not have affiliation with that subreddit, so use it at your own risk.
